Overview and Responsibilities
The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment is seeking an experienced IT Architect / Service Designer to assist the department’s Enterprise Service Management and Digital Foundation Programs in driving a range of strategy, business, technical and program delivery outcomes. The department is consolidating and transforming its IT and Enterprise Service Management capability and requires a suitably experienced IT professional to join the existing team.
The successful candidate will have broad and extensive experience in ITIL Service Lifecycle which includes planning, architecture, analysis and design with proven ability to successfully contribute in a team environment. The scope of work is not limited to new services. It includes changes and improvements necessary to increase or maintain value to customers over the lifecycle of services, the continuity of services, achievement of service levels and conformance to standards and regulations.
The successful candidate will possess deep skills, experience and/or certifications in IT and Enterprise Service Management and tools, and have solid understanding of contemporary IT service design, operations and SIAM.
Key activities and outcomes sought through this engagement may include:
•Architecture, design and technical advice and guidance primarily in the context of IT Service Management and SIAM;
•Delivery of platform, application and integration designs, roadmaps, requirements and specifications, working closely with 3rd Party Providers;
•Design of ITSM capability improvements and oversight of delivery performance in accordance with improvement roadmaps and timelines;
•Complex dependency and inter-project constraint mapping and management;
•Contributions to program and project reporting, organisational change management and communications in the context of service transformation; and
•Other tasks and activities as directed by the department.
The role will report directly to the Program Manager, Enhanced Service Management working closely with the ESM Transformation Lead.
Essential Criteria
1. Demonstrated experience delivering an ITIL based Service Design process in a government environment. In particular the ability to design and document the end to end delivery of a service across a multi-vendor environment, focusing customer outcomes and efficiency.
2. Detailed understanding of IT Service Management, ITIL and Scaled Agile.
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders and negotiate with business and technical personnel.
4. Demonstrated experience working in a multi-vendor environment, leading diverse teams to achieve a common goal.
