An exciting opportunity exists in the Biosecurity Group within the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment to develop anomaly detection methods to identify behaviours that could be indicative of attempts to bypass border controls
We require a specialist to perform statistical analytics to systematically monitor activity in the department’s transactional systems.
- An automated and statistically sound method of identifying quantitative and categorical anomalies.
- Project documentation, including evaluation and suitability of anomaly detection methods and recommendations for implementation.
- Significant practical experience in programming, statistical evaluation and relational databases, including experience in extracting, validating and cleansing data from a wide range of sources and systems. Mandatory languages: R, SQL
- Strong experience in undertaking data analysis and analytical report writing, along with highly developed data visualisation and communication skills. (Project management skills are highly desirable).
Must have current baseline clearance
