Overview and Responsibilities

The Department of Education, Skills and Employment seeks experienced range of Developers to join our team. The team is responsible for providing a wide range of digital services to support the business and operating environment of the department.

Essential Criteria

  1. Experience developing and delivering large scale applications utilising established development tools, guidelines and conventions including the following technologies:
    • ASP.NET MVC / .NET Core
    • Microsoft Web API / REST Architecture
    • SQL / Entity Framework
    • Experience with TFS
    • Unit / Automated UI testing
  2. Demonstrated ability to effectively use communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholder relationships in a challenging IT environment
  3. Demonstrated experience in supporting large applications in a production environment
  4. Experience working in an Agile software development environment and experience using devops toolset

Desired Criteria

  1. CI/CD Practices
  2. Experience with PowerShell automation
  3. JavaScript / Typescript / Jquery
  4. CSS frameworks including Bootstrap
  5. Reactive frontend frameworks including React, Vue or Angular
  6. Experience with concurrent development source control (Git)
  7. Solution Design Patterns and Best Practices, e.g. SOA
  8. Contract Extensions

Two option periods of twelve months each:

  • a.1 Jul 2021 to 30 Jun 2022,
  • b.1 Jul 2022 to 30 Jun 2020
