Overview and Responsibilities

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support delivery AMSA’s search and rescue / incident response solution. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this role will be responsible for implementation of one or more technical IT sub-projects, including working with vendor COTS solutions. Applicants must have an understanding of AMSA's business and our mission especially as relates to incident response and search and rescue. Candidates MUST only apply if they have a genuine interest in working in this environment, be considered a good fit for a high performing team in a small organisation and have been vetted against the must have and desirable criteria.

Essential Criteria

  1. Must have current baseline clearance
  2. Minimum 5-8 years managing IT Application projects in federal government
  3. Proven successful delivery from initiation to deployment/closure of IT application projects
  4. Ability to manage multi-vendor relationships
  5. Demonstrated experience delivering solutions with COTS and bespoke applications, including integration with cloud and on premise infrastructure
  6. Demonstrated experience managing and reporting senior project stakeholders, including steering committees and executive
  7. Demonstrated experience coordinating and tasking teams of IT project resources
  8. Demonstrated experience in guiding stakeholders through process change
  9. Experience in developing, managing and delivering to detailed schedule
  10. Experience in developing and managing mitigation strategies in response to project change
  11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  12. Project Management certification/s (industry standards)

Desired Criteria

  1. Experience in project management of incident response or similar projects
