Overview and Responsibilities

AMSA is seeking an IT Project Manager, with experience managing delivery (initiation through to deployment) of COTS and bespoke software applications in federal government. This role will be responsible for managing the upgrade of AMSA’s existing search and rescue capability as well as implementation of an integration platform and delivery of new solutions to support AMSA’s future response requirements. Reporting to the CIO, IT Project Manager and Executive Project Board/s, the Project Manager will be responsible for implementation of several IT projects including integration, data migration and COTS/bespoke applications to deliver end state solutions. The candidate will work in a small IT project team including solution architects, developers, and technical leads. The role will require liaison and coordination of activities with business stakeholders, subject matter experts and senior executives. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident in their ability to negotiate and manage strategies in response to project change to deliver business outcomes. The candidate should have relevant industry standard qualifications/certifications, demonstrated experience managing to schedule and adhering to agency governance requirements. ****NOTE TO SELLERS: PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING QUESTIONS**** Based on common questions to our roles, the following should be used as a guide. Interstate candidates interested in the role will need to factor in the requirement to attend on site as required/directed at their own cost. This requirement is subject to relevant state government COVID health guidelines. This is a new position, with no incumbent and is not a market test. Questions regarding rate, budget and margins will not be answered. A rate has deliberately not been set. Vendors should price candidates competitively for the Canberra market. AMSA will use the Digital Marketplace rate guide to determine a suitable average rate. Timeline for start is a guide only and will depend on evaluation, contract and notice period.
