The Department of Home Affairs require the services of three (3) highly experienced Solution Architects to assist with work being carried out by the Corporate & Case Systems Delivery Management Section


The Solution Architect(s) will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:

- Developing technology and system architecture artefacts (solution designs / blueprints);

- Providing integration services between multiple modules;

- Providing guidance and advice to stakeholders related to architecture within their domain;

- Ensuring artefacts produced are fit for purpose, adhere to the architecture standards and patterns, and are suitable for approval to the respective governance boards (such as the Architecture Review Board);

- Ensuring that project architecture artefacts are produced by the required deadlines set by program, project and release timeframes;

- Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships (including Executives, business representatives, project managers, solution architects);

- Providing key input to the following artefacts:

- Architecture End States;

- Solution Outlines;

- Architectural Decisions;

- Service Models;

- Operational Models;

- Corporate Data Models;

- Reference Architectures;

- Release Architecture Dependencies.

- Developing positive team ethos within the immediate workgroup through positive participation and communication.


The Solution Architect(s) will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to Home Affairs staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with Home Affair’s recordkeeping policy and practices.


The Solution Architects will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, in conjunction with the Department’s architecture framework, including but not limited to:

- Design Reviews;

- Project architecture artefacts (such as Solution Outlines and System Architecture Documentation); and

- Architectural Decision documentation.

Essential Criteria

  1. BASELINE Clearance Minimum
  2. Demonstrated experience (5+ years) working as an solution architect
  3. Demonstrated experience (2+ years) providing integration services
  4. Demonstrate ability to facilitate architecture decisions efficiently
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of ICT Enterprise Architectures and implementation of Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) based solutions
  6. Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload
