Overview and Responsibilities
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is an independent statutory authority established by the Australian Government to maintain an impartial and independent electoral system for eligible voters through active electoral roll management, efficient delivery of polling services, and targeted education and public awareness programs. The National Training and Education Unit (NTEU) is a specialist team of skilled practitioners in the field of training and education with extensive electoral experience. The Unit is responsible for the delivery of high quality training, development and education that professionalises the AEC’s workforce and builds knowledge of electoral processes in our stakeholders. The NTEU is a dispersed team and operates as an agile pool, where staff take responsibility for diverse projects and programs and report to different supervisors depending on the assignment of work. The Training and Development Coordinator supports a broad range of training and development coordination functions in the National Training and Education Unit within the Office of the Deputy Electoral Commissioner. The Training and Development Coordinator also participates in unit planning for short term tasks and some strategic planning for longer term initiatives. The role is responsible for undertaking work that is moderately complex to complex in nature, under limited direction, utilising expertise within the area of training, education and development coordination.
Essential Criteria
Each candidate must complete a two page scenario assessment. Candidates who do not supply a response to the scenario assessment will not be considered. The response to the scenario is limited to two (2) pages in total, addressing the following points: 1. Provide an example of your role in the coordination of a training program/s for service delivery staff. What was your role, highlighting the importance and impact of your actions and the outcome/s achieved, and how did this program contribute to organisational directions/priorities and objectives. 2. Provide an example of an interaction or situation that demonstrates your ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships, focussed particularly on key internal stakeholders, which achieved a positive outcome. 3. The NTEU has a positive, collaborative and supportive team culture. Outline how you would contribute to and/or enhance this team culture. Submission format All documents are to be combined into one (1) PDF attachment. This should include at a minimum: 1. Cover page containing Recruitment Consultant / Account Manager contact details and summary (including any special considerations of the candidate) 2. Response to scenario assessment 3.
