Overview and Responsibilities
The department is upgrading its Export Certification systems to deliver modern, high quality, easy to use software solutions for a variety of export commodities and is looking for developers with experience upgrading existing code to latest development environments. All applicants will have the skills to design and develop solutions for medium to complex requirements, employing agile software development and change release activities. A strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management with business and technical stakeholders is required. All applicants will also have experience in developing clear and comprehensive technical documentation.. Job responsibilities •Update and maintain existing export certification systems to ensure smooth, uniform user experience across varied platforms. •Architect software based on service-oriented and event-driven architectures. •Develop / maintain web-based UI using ReactJS, CSS and HTML. •Design data models, translate to physical data models and implement using SQL Database. •Produce and maintain detailed design artefacts & technical specifications; and •Develop SOAP and REST web services for internal system-to-system integration and B2G integration. Skills & Experience •Strong skills in C++; Centura; SQL Server; C#, middleware and UI; WCF, WFP; Web services, Windows services; XML; SSL; encryption; signing; Electronic document exchange; DevOps; Azure & cloud technologies. •The ability to engage well with stakeholders and develop strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders as required. Work in a collegiate and collaborative and inclusive manner to share knowledge and skills with team members, business peers and management. •A strong culture of agile software development and change release activities for developing for medium to complex solutions. •The ability to upgrade existing code and provide clear and comprehensive system documentation. •The ability to pick up abstract concepts quickly to assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution activities arising from operational incidents. •Skills in Azure DevOps; and •Professional experience in a similar role preferably in IT/Federal Government is preferred.
