Overview and Responsibilities

CASA is seeking to fill multiple positions for a large Cloud Services initiative that will transform the way CASA develops and delivers services to its clients, both internal and external. Separated into two major tranches you’ll have the opportunity to work across several key Information Technology service delivery areas contributing to enhancing and implementing leading edge technologies as CASA transitions to a full Cloud Services offering over the next few years. You’ll be working on uplift and transition of existing ICT capabilities to align with CASA’s Cloud first approach and building and deploying of the new Cloud only environment will see you working across complex technical issues and contributing to the realisation of strategic outcomes as part of the program. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have the ability to communicate effectively and manage relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including team members, product owners, project managers, and executives. You will also have experience working in both Agile and Waterfall projects and ideally have experience with to deliver design and research activities, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement as part of a large program of work. As part of the Cloud Services Project team the DevOps Engineer will undertake tasks to help develop and implement the CI/CD capability within the IT Branch and this will include release automation processes in a mixed on-prem and cloud environment as the orgainsation transitions to a full Cloud Service offering. This keys skill requires interdisciplinary approaches to developing and operating software and systems products and services across the full life cycle using tools like DevOps/DevSecOps, site reliability engineering, developer productivity engineering. Tasks include; a)establishing secure and reliable software lifecycle principles and practices b)developing a supporting framework of methods, procedures, techniques, tools, and people with required skills, knowledge and competencies c)deploying and using this environment with the people and teams that are responsible for all systems and software life cycle engineering d)building repeatable and reliable capabilities through a process of trial, feedback, learning and continual evolution e)adapting working practices to the needs of specific products and services f)defining, controlling and improving software life cycle processes g)building in risk management, quality, security, privacy and safety h)maximising the automation of activities i)establishing software architecture and design principles to enable the desired life cycle processes j)focusing on mission, value and customers k)establishing a culture of collaboration, learning, knowledge management, adaptation and resilience l)adopting and integrating appropriate industry frameworks to guide improvements m)Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity and participative management and environmental management practices in the workplace and act in accordance with CASA values and behaviours. Mandatory a) Two or more years of demonstrated experience in developing automated build and deployment pipelines b) Five or more years of demonstrated experience in working with a variety of source control systems including automation during build and deployment operations c) 2 or more years of demonstrated experience building service virtualisation and test data management solutions d) 2 or more years of demonstrated experience advising developers on development tool use in DevOps and Continuous Integration (CI) environments e) Experience integrating code quality analysis, test automation and reporting into deployment pipelines, particularly using Azure DevOps, Ansible, Tosca and SonarQube. f) Experience with migrating applications to containerised deployments g) Experience establishing continuous integration environments h) Experience with instrumentation of applications for monitoring Desirable experience a)Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills. b)Excellent influencing and negotiation experience c)Excellent analytical and execution skills d)Ability to promote a positive creative culture within CASA Location Based in Aviation House, Phillip, ACT the Resource must work (on average) 8 hours per day (40 hours per week) between the core hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
